Participants will use a generative AI tool (Microsoft Copilot, provided as part of the University of Manchester Office 365 package) to develop a mini-project during the workshop, exploring generated content both linked to their domain knowledge and to unfamiliar areas of expertise. Working through a guided process, participants will use Generative AI to create an interactive research engagement tool or website. During the session, users will have opportunity to assess the reliability and usefulness of Generative AI in areas where they themselves are expert, and then consider the usefulness and reliability of Generative AI in activities which rely on the AI to act in the role of expert. Note: To take part, you'll need to use a computer. If you use assistive technologies such as a screen reader, or if there are any accessibility considerations we should be aware of, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
