Drawing on more than three decades of leading spatial cohesion, regional development and environment policy making, Hon Prof Elisa Ferreira will present an overview of how spatial cohesion policy was central to EU development, how its standing in the EU agenda is being currently challenged by the uncertainties of war, enlargement to new countries and the weakening of the geopolitical power of the EU in a polarised world.
